Cui Bono?

As things develop in our current climate of corporate interests, it makes me wonder why certain laws are passed. Why do our legislatures feel that it is so important to make it a law. Two recent laws, meant to make life easier for the masses, are the hands-less cell phone law and the Digital TV Transition Law.
Studies show that the use of a hand less cell phone versus using your hands does not make driving safer. The fact is, you are still not paying complete attention to your driving. So who benefits from this law? Who is the driving force? I would think think that large corporations, such as Motorola, have made some big profits since the law was enacted on July 1st. By it, consumers are forced to spend money on new headsets. Sure, spending money helps our economy, but at what cost? Anytime I was driving anywhere and someone cut me off, or just wasn't paying attention it was usually because they had their phone to their head. Since July, people are still driving like Buttfaced Miscreants.
The second law is the Digital TV Transition Act put forth by the FCC (A Federal Bureaucracy not immune from Corporate Lobbyists). This law forces consumers who do not own a digital TV, have cable or satellite to purchase a converter box through your cable company. Yes, that means that Comcast, Clear Channel, Viacom and other globalist corporate entities will gain huge profits at the expense of the hapless consumer.
The converter box coupon program would "help" lower income people purchase the converter box through a federal grant. So, our (on the verge of bankruptcy) federal government will be giving already rich corporations more money. Wow.
Luckily, I keep seeing the commercials for this on the Fox Network, which made me suspicious right off the bat. And those commercials run extremely often, which reminds me that the more you hear about something the less you question it.

National ID Card, VISA, and the Cashless Society

If you grew up in the 80's like I did, then I am sure you have seen the movie �Back to the Future�. In the second film of the trilogy, Michael J Fox's character goes to the future where there is no money; they simply scan your thumb for payment. Apparently, it was believed that at some point we would all be part of a control grid where all of your information will be available to the government.
I do believe that money, in its current form, will be obsolete in our near future. In fact, it has already started. Not too long ago, the banks developed a way to keep you away from your money by creating direct deposit, charging you to take money out of the ATMs, and now we have the best one, your ATM card now has a VISA logo.
Let me show you how it all comes together;
Some of us have heard of the National ID Cards. Washington has been selling the idea to us as a way of keeping us safe and secure from those evil doers in the Middle East and illegal immigrants here at home. It is said that you will not be allowed to fly, enter office buildings, or vote without showing your National ID Card. The National ID Card will have all of your information similar to the above mentioned control grid. To me this is pretty scary stuff, but then it all became clear.
I, like most Americans watch a lot of TV and I have noticed something oddly familiar about these VISA commercials lately. In every single commercial they show an assembly line of happy consumers purchasing their goods with their handy VISA cards. The one consumer who uses this outdated form of payment known as currency is frowned upon by the employee working the register and the other consumers in line.
Frankly, I am surprised that the people in these commercials aren't wearing blue overalls with a picture of big brother on the wall of the store.
This vision of the future seems to fit in with what is going on in our country today, doesn't it? The dollar is being devalued, and the middle class is dwindling.
I know, this may all just be a big coincidence, but if it's not?

Throwing your vote away

Change... Everyone claims to want it. I thought Americans knew what they meant when that word gets thrown out there. If a Democrat wins, the only change the American people will see is that for the first time ever, the American president will be "African American" or a "Female American". They talk about Universal Health Care as if it is a right to get free health care. Let me just say that we all have the right to health care, just like we have the right to own a home. But we do not have the right to be given a home for free, nor do we have the right to any hand outs. For me to get free health care, that means that somewhere down the line someone else is paying for it (through higher taxes). Is that the change that people want? Putting a Democrat in office is not going to bring our troops home from Iraq or anywhere else in the world where they have no business being in. The Democrats got the control of Congress campaigning on that issue and they didn't "change" anything.
Now, let's talk about the Republican candidates... The root of Republicanism is to lower the power, and spending of the Federal Government. Umm, the "Republicans" trying to become president are not trying to limit the power of the Federal Government. They, like the Democrats are increasing Federal authority and spending with no oversight.
The truth is, there is one man running for president who wants to lower taxes, lower government spending, and change our Imperialistic foreign policy. That man is Ron Paul.
Many people I know wanted to vote for him but didn't because they felt that it would be throwing their vote away (my father being one of them).
This is very dissapointing. Discounting the person you agree with to vote for someone who seems the lesser of two evils in between other candidates, is throwing your vote away. That is saying that you submit to what the Corporate Media tells you is your choice.
America is not on its way to a recession... We are in a recession. Corporations are sending jobs overseas, the federal government is borrowing billions from foreign countries to fund wars that we can't afford, and the Federal Reserve keeps printing money out of nothing. Meanwhile, the IRS takes 1/3rd of your income away unconstitutionally and the American people have been sleepwalking through life thinking everything is hunky-dory. I honestly believed that Americans were waking up. Apparently, I was wrong
Yesterday, we finally had a chance to make a stand, to vote for real change, to lay the groundwork to a better life for those that come after us, and America choked. I am ashamed.
If Ron Paul decides to keep running as an Independent candidate, you owe it to your country and fellow citizens to vote for REAL change.
